Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a gold medal winner? You may hear that all it takes is grit, resilience, drive, motivation and passion. Others may also tell you that these are the features that characterize a good entrepreneur. Sports and entrepreneurship are closely connected when it comes to the people who pursue them. Sport teaches us that you cannot allow your endeavors to make you complacent and that you cannot let fear prevent you from soaring high. It also toughens your resilience, enabling you to pick yourself up and get back in the game through and through.
“Sport, Business and Startups” is the name of the event organized by Women in Business_Bocconi Female Students Association and Startup Grind Milan. This partnership started as a result of our mutual goal to empower young women to push through their aspirations in the evolving entrepreneurial industry. The aim of the event is to underline the link between sports and entrepreneurship and we will try to do it through a double fire chat with two gold medal winners: Elisa di Francisca, Olympic Games World Champion (fencing) and Veronica Yoko Plebani, Paralympic Games World Champion (kayak). The live chat will be introduced by Prof. Paola Profeta, from the Department of Public Analysis and Policies of Università Bocconi and moderated by Andrea Roberto Bifulco, Chapter Director of Startup Grind Milano.
The event will take place on March 14th, 18:30 at Bocconi University, Aula Magna (Via Gobbi). Afterwards, we are offering a networking aperitivo to all the participants. All interested are invited to register for the event, using the Startup Grind Milan registration form bellow.
“With this fireside chat we’re widening our horizons to a new category of leaders. We, as businessmen and businesswomen, have a lot to learn from them, Elisa and Veronica, and from their attitude toward challenges: perseverance, resolution and willpower are winning traits also in the entrepreneurial word. The event co-organized on the 14th with Women in Business is a way for the Startup Grind community to start collaborating with the university world and widen the ecosystem for mutual growth and enrichment, part of our daily goals and fundamental pillar since our establishment”, said Andrea Roberto Bifulco.
Our partner, Startup Grind is the largest independent startup community, actively educating, inspiring, and connecting 1M founders in over 200 cities, founded in Silicon Valley in 2010. They organize monthly events featuring successful local founders, innovators, educators and investors who share lessons learned on the road to building great companies.
Startup Grind Milano, created in 2014, has already hosted 18 events with around 2000 people participating.
