Why did you choose 180 Degrees Consulting? What were your objectives at the beginning of your adventure?
“When I went to the presentation of the first recruitment of 180 Degrees Consulting Bocconi, now nearly two years ago, it was the first time that I heard about it and I was immediately excited – this was exactly the kind of hands-on, practical experience doing meaningful work that I had been looking for to complement my university studies.
As i found out more, I was intrigued by the idea on which 180 Degrees Consulting was founded – the idea that good intentions and the motivation to help people alone are not enough to solve the many problems faced by our society today and that, in light of limited resources, we need to ensure that the organizations and programs aiming to solve those problems are the most effective they can be.
The unique aspect of 180 Degrees Consulting that inspired me as soon as I first heard about it is that university students get the opportunity to help create real change in the world, while at the same time gaining practical work experience that can prove immensely valuable during and after university. Through 180 Degrees Consulting I was able to not only work with several exciting and innovative social enterprises, but also to contribute in building a social start-up – our own 180 Degrees Consulting branch – from its very beginnings to its current successful position. I am eternally grateful to have been given this opportunity and wholeheartedly recommend 180 Degrees Consulting to all students that want to find out how to change the world for the better”.
What are the tasks of the president?
Internally, the President is the responsible for the overall success of the 180 Degrees Consulting Bocconi branch and works together with the executive board to define goals and objectives for the branch’s performance. The president then continually monitors that performance and supports the executive board members as well as the project team leaders throughout the semester in order to ensure that the branch is able to create the maximum social impact possible for our clients.
Externally, the Presidenti s the legal representative of 180 Degrees Consulting Bocconi and this stands for its interests within the university as well as outside of it. This can involve drafting legal documents or speaking on behalf of 180 Degrees Consulting at a conference or event, as well as liaising with the global leadership team of 180 Degrees Consulting”.
